Beaches

The Atlantic coast of South West France, stretching from the Spanish border right up to Bordeaux, is really just one long sandy beach!

There are hardly any coves or rocky outcrops; just miles and miles of beautiful soft white sand. It really is a paradise for everyone whether you are looking to surf, swim, sunbathe or entertain the children!

In the south of Les Landes are the wonderful beaches of Soustons, Vieux Boucau, Moliets, Capbreton and Hossegor. Vast stretches of pristine sand are backed by mountainous dunes and sweet smelling pine forests. The beaches, all of which have been awarded European Blue Flag status, are immaculately kept as each of the region's councils are responsible for their cleanliness and safety.

Each morning as the sun rises, the sand is sieved by huge machines that remove any unwanted material, giving the beaches a lovely groomed finish!

There are good facilities at all of the main beaches (Soustons, Vieux Boucau, Moliets, Capbreton and Hossegor) including lifeguards, surf schools, showers, toilets and litter bins.

Some of the beaches have a mobile café while others adjoin their respective villages with a selection of shops, cafés and restaurants. Ample parking is available at most of the beaches otherwise we can provide a drop off and collection service to/from the beach.

The main beaches have superb watersports facilities including sailing, windsurfing and surfboard hire, or you may prefer to just relax, sunbathe and swim in the ocean.

Even in the height of summer, it is possible to find uncrowded and unspoilt beaches where you can experience solitude. Of course we will be on hand to give advice on the best beaches for sunbathing, swimming and surfing!
